Carol McMahon

Carol is a Psychologist with an honours degree in Psychology from Dublin City University and a Master’s degree in Health Psychology (Behavioural Medicine) from the University of Ulster.

Carol has a particular interest in the biopsychosocial model to health and wellbeing, which emphasises an overall holistic approach, via the interconnection between biological, psychological and socio-environmental factors. When this model is applied to health, it demonstrates the importance of maintaining wellness in all aspects of our lives.

Carol is passionate about women's health psychology in particular, and the unique health conditions women experience. She has sought to contribute to the scientific knowledge and clinical practice in this field, with her Master’s research on the biopsychosocial impact of Menopausal transition on the health behaviours of Irish women, a topic which has been greatly understudied from a psychological perspective in Ireland.

Carol is a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland.
